A new pace
Sometimes, the most significant progress is found in the smallest actions. As I sit here, mending the things that were left aside, I realize I am not just repairing fabric or jewelry, I am repairing my own rhythm. No rush, no obligation, just the observation of where I stand right now. A new pace
Recovering is quiet. Paso a paso. You don’t rush trust back into your body. You earn it, slowly.
Lately, I’ve been picking up small things again. Mending clothes, fixing jewelry, clearing corners of my space. It seems simple, but something shifts when I do that. My head gets quieter, my thoughts slow down, and in that space I can think about what’s next. Not from pressure, but from calm
I’m careful now. Doing what I can to not fall back into the same place again. Part of that is accepting what I’ve been told. That some answers won’t come from the system I was taught to trust. “Learn to live with it” was the limit. And I felt it. That wasn’t where my path ended
So I started looking differently. Not rejecting everything, but not following blindly either. Taking what I need and leaving the rest. Trusting that I know more about my body than I was made to believe.
For a long time, I tried to walk in step, adjusting and adapting just to fit. It never really worked. Now I see why. It’s not how I move.
I’m learning my own pace. What feels natural and what doesn’t. What is mine, and what was taught. It takes time to see the difference, but once I do, it’s clear.
I don’t worry much about how that fits into the world anymore. Maybe people notice, maybe they don’t.
But I do. And that’s enough.
